Freckle Films’ mandate is to discover material that has female characters at their core and seeks to tell stories of underrepresented characters that have been hidden from our screens for too long. It is our ethos to celebrate voices that aren’t frequently heard, and to aid audiences in understand alternative points of view.

In 2016, Jessica Chastain launched Freckle Films, an all female production company with the goal to create opportunity for women in the industry and celebrate artists that we don’t get to hear from. Kelly Carmichael joined Jessica in 2017 to oversee production and development of the company’s original slate with a focus on nurturing and supporting female talent across all aspects of production.
